The Conrad company has the dealership for the entire line of Spartan airplanes made by the Spartan Aircraft company of Tulsa for Minnesota, Iowa and North and South Dakota. The line of planes includes mail, cabin, commercial and training ships. The company at present owns three ships, a Wright, a Challenger and a small training ship, all of which will be housed in the hangar at the airport on the Minnesota City road.

"It is our present plan to construct a hangar at the field next year which will house 12 planes, classrooms and will have quarters for students and visiting pilots," Karl Conrad said today. "It is also our intention to keep the landing field open throughout the coming winter with the aid of snowplows.

Mr. Conrad also announced that his brother Arthur who has been affiliated with the Conrad Fur Company of this city will leave the employ of organization to devote his full time to the flying business, in which he will be in charge of the field and equipment.

Simultaneously with the announcement of the formation of the new company it was also announced that Stanford Templeton received a transport pilots license from the department of commerce at Minneapolis yesterday afternoon after he had successfully passed the written and flying examinations required. Max Conrad already has a transport pilot’s license.

The license is the highest award by the department of commerce and authorize its holder to give flying instructions or to do any kind of flying for commercial purposes in any part of the United States Mr. Templeton announced that he will leave Saturday for Detroit, Mich., where he has accepted a position with an airplane company there.

Max Conrad returned to Winona from Tulsa last night with his Wright Whirlwind ship and Arthur Conrad returned here from Tulsa this morning with the Challenger model ship of the Conrad Company. The Challenger was flown to Tulsa several weeks ago for overhauling.
